Most of our Independent Living clients are referred to us by health care or agency professionals, but we do also accept direct requests. Our ability to accept new clients is dependent on the availability of our volunteer labor and the number of other projects we have on our agenda. Some projects may also be beyond our scope.
Although we prefer to help low-income clients, we don’t exclude anyone from our programs. We often hear from clients who say that they can easily find a contractor willing to do a whole bathroom remodel for $50,000, but that no one is willing to come out and install a $25 grab bar.
